A Great Day Out at Paws In The Park

Well, we spent this weekend at Paws In The Park, Worden Park Leyland and we had a fabulous time!

We baked our socks of at the end of last week and took our fabulous home baking along with home made liver and sardine cake to the event.  We sold out of every single cake and cookie, every crumb of dog cake, a LOT of dog toys and we painted many MANY children’s faces.  Despite a brief shower on Sunday lunchtime a great time was had by all and we added a tidy sum of money to our piggy bank.

So many beautiful dogs of all shapes and sizes joined in all of the wide and varied classes within the companion dogs show.  All of the proceeds went to Northern Greyhound Rescue.  I was very disappointed that the Dobermann owners who joined us for the day didn’t enter the show.   We were quite certain that despite all the lovely dogs, the Dobies were the most beautiful of all.  Call us biased ?

On Saturday there were some amazing old vintage cars on display and on Sunday there were still some people sitting around in the sunshine enjoying the live bands playing in the main arena when we left to head home.

Let’s hope that South Ribble Council who staged this event, thought it successful enough to do it again next year.  We certainly did so you can count us in!
